Integrating renewable energy sources, biogas, and solar energy could provide up to 88% of the annual energy requirements of WWTPs. Recommendations are provided for further research considering the limited availability of integrated resources for studying the simultaneous utilization of photovoltaic and biogas systems. 1. Introduction
Solar photovoltaics is a common solar technology that has a high potential to meet global energy demand and significantly impacts the transition to sustainable energy by reducing carbon emissions from WWTPs by 10%–40%. However, solar PV deployment requires expansive land areas ( Chen and Zhou, 2022; Claus and López, 2022 ).
Deploying PV panels within the existing space of wastewater treatment facilities is viable 28, although the practical energy density varies depending on factors such as WWTP layout, treatment capacity and local solar conditions.
Challenges and tasks faced when treated sewerage which would be include food waste, suggested as a possible approach. This study aims to future aspect of utilizing sewage sludge in Moldova. Sludge digesti on would be very downstream sludge treatment. That solution is financially relevant on a long term basis Production of energy.
Stakeholders in Jordan's construction industry were asked to assess their degree of awareness and knowledge of green building and sustainability, based on their own experiences and understanding, to get insight into how well-informed they are.
As a solution to the lack of sustainable construction in Jordan, manufacturers and suppliers of building materials, and program and project developers, are recommended to invest in environmentally friendly buildings and materials and recycle construction and demolition waste . 5. Conclusions
Results from the interviews showed several reasons for the low adoption of sustainable building practices in Jordan, including lack of knowledge and education, lack of support from stakeholders, and limited rehabilitation and scientific research .
Jordan's private and public sectors' perceptions of green building construction in Jordan can be influenced by the findings of this study, which helps promote the notion of sustainable building construction in Jordan to the research participants.
This study is the first to explore the benefits of utilising STORES as a primary storage medium to support 100% renewable electricity futures in Southeast Asia. STORES can facilitate high penetration of variable solar and wind energy in electricity systems through energy time shifting and load levelling.
Within all the scenarios, the duration of storage is in the range of 0–38 h, which means hours or days of short-term energy storage are required in Southeast Asia rather than weeks or months of long-term, seasonal energy storage.
Rapid increases in electricity consumption in Southeast Asia caused by rising living standards and population raise concerns about energy security, affordability and environmental sustainability. In this study, the role of short-term off-river energy storage (STORES) in supporting 100% renewable electricity in Southeast Asia is investigated.
Consequently, the integration of wind energy can substantially reduce the reliance on energy storage to stabilise the electricity systems when solar energy is not sufficient. However, compared with solar energy, the seasonal variability in wind energy in Southeast Asia is large.
Configuring energy storage for household PV has good environmental benefits. The household PV energy storage system can achieve appreciable economic benefits. Configurating energy storage for household PV is friendly to the distribution network. Household photovoltaic (PV) is booming in China.
This paper focuses on the latest studies and applications of Photovoltaic (PV) systems and Energy Storage Systems (ESS) in buildings from perspectives of system configurations, mathematic models, and design and operation optimizations. The following conclusions can be summarized: Photovoltaic power generation systems in buildings were introduced.
When combined with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and grid loads, photovoltaic (PV) systems offer an efficient way of optimizing energy use, lowering electricity expenses, and improving grid resilience.
Finally, A typical enterprise is selected for analysis. The results indicate that the proposed model can not only effectively reduce the peak electricity load of enterprises, but also significantly reduce the investment return period of photovoltaic energy storage. Using TRNSYS software, the proposed Parabolic Trough Collector (PTC)-based solar heating system paired with the boiler is modelled. Sensible thermal energy storage (TES) system is integrated into the refinery's process heating to handle the intermittent nature of solar energy.
Conclusion The present study investigates the feasibility of solar hybrid system to generate steam in the oil refinery to maintain the temperature of heavy crude oil products before despatching from storage tanks. Due to the intermittent behaviour of solar energy, the solar hybrid system is integrated with a sensible heat storage tank.
Most of the steam is to be used for the atmospheric distillation process, which is one of the most energy-intensive processes of a refinery. Furthermore, the exergy balance is shown in Fig. 12 c, which attests to an exergy efficiency of the plant of 55.5%. The energy efficiency determined from the energy balance is 82.4%.
Other studies in the literature considered coupling solar energy systems to oil refineries to decarbonize their operation. The applicability and feasibility of introducing a concentrated solar power (CSP) system to reduce partial reliance on process heaters of a crude oil refinery was studied by Danish et al. .
