Jakarta, August 7, 2025 – Indonesia will build a 100 Gigawatt (GW) Solar Power Plant (PLTS). The program plans to build 80 GW of solar power plants and 320 GWh of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) to be managed by the Merah Putih Village Cooperative (KDMP) in 80,000 villages, and 20 GW of Centralized solar power plants.

Keta Solar Power Plant The Keta Solar Power Plant situated in North Sulawesi boasts a capacity of 10 MW and was designed to support the region’s local needs while decreasing dependence on fossil fuels. The plant signifies a commitment to diversifying energy sources, especially in less developed areas (World Bank, 2023).
The floating solar facility came online in November 2023 and is located in the Cirata reservoir in West Java. It currently consists of 13 solar arrays and has a capacity of 145 MW, which is enough to power 50,000 homes.
